Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Under the general direction of the Assistant Director-Research for the Department of Emergency Medicine, the position supports the Department's research enterprise, and more specifically, the Principal Investigators (PIs), by seeking, promoting, communicating, and facilitating extramural funding opportunities. With an in-depth understanding of the relevant funding agencies and specific RFAs, and partnering with pre- and post- award administrators, the position actively engages in the entire pre-award process, planning and developing policies and procedures to ensure, manage, and monitor effective compliance in sponsored research. Seeks and promotes funding opportunities to PIs that meet strategic initiatives of the Department.</p> <p>Works with PIs to prepare grant application packages, assuring that all sponsor and institutional guidelines have been met; Serves as resource for pre-award questions; Guides and facilitates faculty in the development and preparation of research proposals, contracts, sub-contracts, and agreements, and interpretation of funding requirement; Authors and edits research documents, biographical sketches and Other Support documents.</p> <p>Acts as point of contact for multi-investigator awards and coordination efforts; Communicates/advertises funding announcements via Department weekly e-Newsletter (Yale Message) and online funding bulletins; Maintains in-depth knowledge of funding agencies and RFAs, policies and procedures; Coordinates submissions with departmental pre-award manager, financial analysts and other institutional offices such as Office of Sponsored Projects and Corporate and Foundation Relations; Develops SOPs, best practices and metrics for success for timely submissions; maintains library of reference materials.</p> <p>This position is Hybrid- 3 days on-site with Tuesday as a required on-site day.</p> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Demonstrated experience in pre-award compliance and submission of federal grants.</p> </li><li> <p>Technical proficiency in grant submission and management platforms (ERA Commons, SciENcv, IRES, huron, cayuse and more).</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform independently and efficiently under tight deadlines and with rapidly changing compliance landscapes.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Federal Uniform guidance and demonstrated ability interpreting clinical trial protocols and federal, state, local regulations, policies, and guidelines around grant submission.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills both written and oral, including the ability to diffuse high intensity communications impacted by tight deadlines.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in health or research-related discipline and three years of related work experience in clinical research coordination.</p> </li><li> <p>Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or equivalent certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven experience with FDA/regulatory submissions and compliance, specifically within clinical trials.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced skills in data management and analysis, including the use of tools like REDCap, Excel, and OnCore.</p> </li></ol> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Compares protocols and sponsored projects to confirm consistency between funding proposals/awards and approved protocols. 2. Documents established congruency between funding proposals and approved protocols. 3. Facilitates and/or assists with resolution of any inconsistencies between funding proposals and approved protocols. 4. Serves as a liaison between the Grants and Contracts offices, investigators, and business managers to resolve congruency issues in a timely manner. 5. Attends meetings and presents issues when necessary that were identified during congruency review. 6. Serves as a resource and provides technical assistance to investigators and their staff. 7. Provides analytical and technical support related to establishing and recording protocol/grant congruency, as needed. 8. Monitors federal and state regulations for new guidance, updates, or policies. Maintains a high degree of knowledge on these requirements to determine actions and follow directives that may be required to ensure University compliance with congruency review and reporting requirements. 9. Develops, implements, and manages internal practices that ensure compliance with federal requirements. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.
