Reviews and provides input on employment policies and provides communication and training for Associate Relations / Human Resources on important employment issues. Ensures the highest level of execution on strategic employment initiatives to proactively protect the Company.</p> <p>Major Areas of Responsibility</p> <ul> <li>Conducts legal research on a variety of employment matters such as wage and hour laws, minor labor laws, ADA, criminal code, etc., and analyzes the potential effects on the Company's workforce </li><li>Collaborates with partners and in-house counsel on proposed communication and direction regarding changes to federal, state, and local employment laws </li><li>Mentors Associate Relations / Human Resources business partners on investigations and other employment matters </li><li>Serves as business partner and legal compliance resource to Human Resource divisional groups on administration of Form I-9, E-Verify, and related hiring / immigration matters </li><li>Supports internal and external labor audit activities </li><li>Identifies employment related training needs and opportunities </li><li>Supports TJX policy changes and Code of Conduct policy </li><li>Additional duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Who We Are Looking For: You.</p> <ul> <li>Juris Doctor required </li><li>Motivated self-starter with an eye for detail and excellent organization skills </li><li>Proven ability to communicate legal or complex information to a lay audience </li><li>Able to work independently, or collaboratively across functional areas, as needed </li><li>Able to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks and deadlines </li><li>High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office Suite products (including formatting, editing, sorting, basic formulas) </li><li>Direct experience in HR, employment law, immigration law, or with a related government agency is preferred but not required. </li></ul> <p>Benefits include Associate discount; 401(k) match; medical/dental/vision; HSA; health care FSA; life insurance; short/long-term disability; paid holidays/vacation /sick/bereavement/parental leave; EAP; incentive programs for management; auto/home insurance discounts; tuition reimbursement; scholarship program; adoption/surrogacy assistance; smoking cessation; child care/cell phone discounts; pet/legal insurance; credit union; referral bonuses.
