<p>General Summary: The Engineering Intern supports the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering teams in the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of large-scale food processing equipment. This role provides hands-on experience working directly alongside engineers, designers, and production personnel on the manufacturing floor, assisting with real projects that impact safety, quality, delivery, and cost.</p> <p>This is not a "shadowing" internship - interns contribute meaningful work and are expected to take ownership of tasks and results.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Create and revise 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks </li><li>Assist with 2D detailing, BOMs, and engineering documentation </li><li>Support shop floor troubleshooting and design improvements </li><li>Participate in kaizen and continuous improvement activities </li><li>Help update legacy prints and standardize design practices </li><li>Perform basic calculations, measurements, and prototype testing </li><li>Collaborate with Manufacturing, Welding, Controls, and Assembly teams </li><li>Support project engineers with scheduling, organization, and follow-ups </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required</p> <ul> <li>Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field </li><li>Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) </li><li>Mechanically inclined; comfortable in a hands-on shop environment </li><li>Strong problem-solving and communication skills </li><li>Self-starter with a willingness to learn and ask questions </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Primarily manufacturing floor and engineering environments </li><li>Hands-on work with industrial equipment and electrical systems </li></ul> <p>Cultural Expectations</p> <p>All team members are expected to demonstrate our core behaviors:</p> <ul> <li>Ownership and accountability </li><li>Trust and integrity </li><li>Teamwork and clear communication </li><li>Respect for others </li><li>Positive, solutions-oriented mindset </li></ul>
