<p>Hourly:</p> <p>$17.50 - $17.50</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Executive, Health & Welfare</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Mayor's Office of Children, Youth & Family</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Summer Seasonal Position</p> <p>Must be a high school student and at least 16 years old by hire date.</p> <p>This High School Youth Employee - Recreation Leader job posting is for the 5 openings at the St. Julian Devine Community Center.</p> <p>This role will learn about municipal recreation operations and engaging the community in a variety of activities.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Works at an assigned recreation facility:</p> </li><li> <p>St. Julian Devine Community Center- 1 Cooper Street</p> </li><li> <p>Helps with set up of chairs, tables, supplies and equipment in designated areas for scheduled day camp activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Under supervision, assists in arts and crafts, games, and other structured activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides support on camp on field trips and outings.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with answering questions and communicating with parents.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors children to ensure orderly conduct.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Available to work 20 hours per week for 8 weeks (between the months of June - August 2025) </li><li>Current high school student </li><li>At least 16 years of age by hire date </li></ul> <p>The Summer Youth Employment Program offers selected youth paid workshops on financial empowerment to help participants gain skills in banking, budgeting, saving, and credit.
