<p>Administrative and technical work involving the inspection and oversight of County parks/trails contracts, other County facilities/properties and projects.</p> <p>Performs skilled technical work involving the care, maintenance, and management of trees and plant life in County parks, trails, and other public spaces. This role involves field inspections, tree assessments, and the oversight of arboricultural tasks to ensure the health, safety, and aesthetics of the County's natural landscapes.</p> <p>Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.</p> <p>Additional compensation based on licensure.</p> <p>Note: These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.</p> <p>Conducts field inspections to oversee the contracts necessary for the maintenance and operations of County maintained parks, trails and other facilities/properties.</p> <p>Conducts field inspections and assessments of trees, shrubs, and other vegetation across County parks, trails, and facilities to ensure proper maintenance and care.</p> <p>Ability to analyze and interpret engineering landscape drawings and solve problems relating to turf and landscape materials.</p> <p>Oversees tree pruning, planting, fertilization, and pest control to maintain healthy tree populations.</p> <p>Diagnoses tree health issues and implements treatments for diseases, pests, and other hazards affecting plant life.</p> <p>Analyzes and interprets arboricultural reports, tree health assessments, and other technical documents to ensure adherence to best practices in tree care.</p> <p>Ensures all arboricultural work is compliant with safety regulations, environmental standards, and County policies.</p> <p>Maintains detailed records of work performed, including tree health monitoring, pest treatments, and maintenance schedules.</p> <p>Collaborates with other departments to ensure the successful implementation of tree care projects and capital improvement projects.</p> <p>Resolves customer inquiries or complaints regarding tree and landscape care to ensure satisfaction and proper resolution.</p> <p>Manages and tracks budgets related to arboricultural projects and tree maintenance services.</p> <p>Schedules, inspects, and documents work performed by contractor(s). Understands contract terms to review and check contract implementation, contract quantities, plans and specifications, quality, and performance for County maintained parks, trails and other properties/facilities.</p> <p>Reviews progress of contractor(s) and verifies status of work and compliance with documentation.</p> <p>Assists in analysis of contract claims. Verifies monthly contractor pay requests in adherence to budget.</p> <p>Follows procedures as related to purchasing and invoice processing through automated systems.</p> <p>Resolves customer complaints to ensure customer satisfaction and proper resolution for service requests.</p> <p>Manages the operating budgets for all the contractual maintenance by daily records, billings, accounting, issuing purchase orders.</p> <p>Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.</p> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <p>In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.</p> <p>Completion of an associate's degree and five (5) years Landscape maintenance experience; two (2) years of direct supervisory experience.</p> <p>ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent certification.</p> <p>May be required to maintain a Chemical Applicators License for turf and tree care applications from the State of Florida.</p> <p>A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.</p> <p>Must possess and maintain valid Florida Driver's license.</p> <p>Knowledge of tree biology, pest management, and plant diseases, as well as arboricultural practices for pruning, planting, and tree health care.</p> <p>Knowledge of Landscape management, including all aspects of landscape maintenance, design builds, plant material and turf (inclusive of disease, insect identification, etc.).</p> <p>Ability to read and interpret landscape and tree care blueprints, as well as tree health reports and management plans.</p> <p>Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate arboricultural work assignments.</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing using computer-based software such as word processing, spreadsheet, and tree management software.</p> <p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, member staff, and supervisors.</p>
