<p>O&G Industries, Inc., an innovative and diversified construction company based out of Torrington, CT, is seeking Mechanics (Truck & Heavy Equipment) to join our team at our various repair facility locations (Torrington, Southbury, Danbury, New Milford, Bridgeport, and Stamford). We are a highly respected leader in our field and ranked as one of the top construction firms in the Northeast.</p> <p>This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trucks and heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.</p> <p>Union membership is required at the time of hire or within the applicable application window.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, transmissions, steering, electrical systems, and other mechanical components </li><li>Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and paving equipment components </li><li>Remove and replace heavy equipment and truck components as needed </li><li>Perform preventative maintenance and inspections </li><li>Run diagnostic tests and interpret results accurately </li><li>Perform Federal Motor Carrier periodic inspections </li><li>Use power, machine, and hand tools safely </li><li>Follow all repair shop regulations, safety procedures, and standards </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>35 years of experience as a truck mechanic and/or heavy equipment mechanic</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in equipment software diagnostics and repair based on manufacturer specifications</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of diesel engines, heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems</p> </li><li> <p>Welding experience preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Experience repairing paving equipment is a plus</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail</p> </li><li> <p>Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills</p> </li><li> <p>Basic math skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Please note we are unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this position.</p> <p>To access different languages for the application process, click START YOUR APPLICATION.
