Key responsibilities include providing evidence-based teaching, evaluating student performance, fostering a supportive learning environment, and ensuring alignment with course outcomes and accreditation standards. Adjunct instructors work collaboratively with full-time faculty and participate in required training and course meetings to promote student success and maintain overall program quality.</p> <p>The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT) program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered:</p> <ul> <li>Earned a Master's degree in Respiratory Care or closely related discipline from a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program. </li><li>Valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. </li><li>Active Respiratory Care License in the state of Florida in good standing. </li><li>Relevant respiratory therapy experience, including clinical, academic, and/or managerial roles. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Preferred candidates will hold a doctorate degree in an appropriate field of specialization or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution, beyond the required respiratory care degree.</p> <p>Prior teaching experience in respiratory therapy or related health sciences in online or hybrid teaching formats.</p> <p>1 year or more experience in areas such as mechanical ventilation, critical care, neonatal/pediatric care, or cardiopulmonary diagnostics; and familiarity with CoARC standards and competency-based education.</p> <p>Advanced credentials Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS), Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS), or Sleep Disorders Specialty CRT-SDS/RRT-SDS) and active involvement in professional organizations such as the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) , Florida Society Respiratory Care (FSRC), or related specialty societies.</p> <p>Special Requirements or Considerations of the Job:</p> <ul> <li>This position requires a criminal background screen. </li><li>This position requires licensure, certification, or other qualifications described in the Special Instructions. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants: All applicants will need to upload their current CV and copies of their NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and Florida Respiratory Care License.</p> <p>Candidates must apply online through the University of West Florida website: https://careers.uwf.edu.
