Created by healthcare, for healthcare, we have a dedicated focus on our people and customers, as well as providing tools, processes, support resources, data analytics and insource strategies that drive results.</p> <p>Under direct supervision, performs a variety of service duties such as: coordinating and performing the care and maintenance of Hospital grounds; plants and maintains floral beds; watering, seeding, mowing and fertilizing lawns; trimming and transplanting trees and shrubs; removing snow, ice, trash and debris. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe facility. Performs other related duties as requested by authorized personnel.</p> <p>This position is located at Genesys Health- Grand Blanc, MI.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Distributes assigned tasks to Groundskeepers and confirms jobs are completed properly. </li><li>Calculates and notifies supervisor of supplies needed, and records supplies and equipment assigned to Groundskeepers. </li><li>Plants and maintains floral beds and berms. </li><li>Mows lawn using hand or riding power mowers. Sods, re-seeds and waters lawns. </li><li>Trims, transplants and waters trees and shrubbery as required. </li><li>Fertilizes and sprays insecticide as needed. </li><li>Removes debris from grounds and drainage basis and keeps terraces clean and orderly. </li><li>Removes snow & ice from walkways, parking lots, steps, ramps, stairways; spreads salt on same. </li><li>Transports salt from Materials Management and stores in garage. </li><li>Cleans canopied areas, entrances and parking lots. </li><li>Repairs driveway, parking lots, sidewalks and installs protective posts. </li><li>Empties and cleans exterior trash containers and ash urns. </li><li>Stores lawn furniture. </li><li>Performs various maintenance tasks on groundskeeping equipment, assembles new equipment. </li><li>Washes and services assigned departmental vehicles and equipment. </li><li>Delivers equipment throughout various areas in Hospital including computer equipment, television sets, and various other equipment as requested. </li><li>Performs as a member of Fire Brigade and Disaster Team. </li><li>Must complete preventive maintenance work within allotted timeframe. </li><li>Maintains water fountains and ponds. </li><li>Must be available for emergency 24 hour snow removal. </li><li>Performs all other duties and projects as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited program required; course work in horticulture and landscaping desirable-required. </li></ul> <p>License/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Certification specializing in Commercial Pesticide credentialed from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date-required. </li><li>Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any valid United States driver's license will be acceptable. Must meet risk management requirements- required. </li><li>Drivers License specializing in Commercial obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. Any valid United States commerical driver's license will be acceptable-required. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Must have experience in vehicle, equipment and small engine repair; must also have experience in all of the various types of equipment such as: 4-wheel drive vehicles, trucks, tractors, hydraulic plows and loaders-required. </li><li></li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to use a smartphone/computer to create work requests, order supplies and close corrective and preventive work orders. </li><li>Ability to read, write and speak English. </li><li>Must have normal vision or correctable vision </li><li>Must be able to differentiate primary colors </li><li>Must have normal finger dexterity. </li><li>Must have the ability to work without mechanical assisting devices. </li><li>Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds without mechanical assisting devices. </li><li>Must be able to climb and work from ladders. </li><li>Must have normal hearing or correctable hearing to recognize various alarms in use in facility, including but not limited to: fire, steam pressure, medical gas and medical air alarms. </li><li>Must have excellent Interpersonal skills: written, oral and telephone. </li><li>Must be able to manipulate tools, instruments, equipment and materials commonly used in Maintenance trades. </li><li>Must pass a Respirator Fit test. </li></ul> <p>#MFMLNDSP</p>
