<p>Overview</p> <p>The Assistant Director of Institutional Giving is responsible for managing team projects and operations, which include reporting; database management; and the tracking of Foundation Relations and Corporate Partnerships' assignments, activity, and giving. The position will provide new and improved tools, analysis, and reporting in support of team planning and manage special projects as applicable. The Assistant Director will report to the Assistant Vice President of Foundation Relations and will also work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Corporate Partnerships to build, manage, and sustain the teams' fundraising operations. We conduct groundbreaking research that advances treatment, we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers, and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for team project management activities, such as reporting on progress on fundraising goals and projections to the department; and portfolio assignment management (ensuring data integrity with prospect portfolios and historical giving); </li><li>Work with Information Services, Prospect Research, and Prospect Managers to develop, analyze, and monitor tracking tools for foundation and corporate prospects; </li><li>Liaise with other Institute departments, such as the Office of Grants & Contracts and Research Finance, to ensure accuracy of grant revenue and record keeping; </li><li>Maintain existing reports while monitoring and addressing Foundation Relations and Corporate Partnerships' reporting needs as they arise, in collaboration with Prospect Managers and Assistant Vice Presidents; </li><li>Support data analysis of diverse revenue streams across Foundation Relations and Corporate Partnerships, inclusive of gifts, grants, sponsorships, and cause marketing; </li><li>Represent Foundation Relations and Corporate Partnerships' interests in cross-Division dialogue on reporting and tracking projects; </li><li>Analyze and prepare data for planning and presentations; </li><li>Prepare materials for Prospect Managers in an effort to maximize portfolios; </li><li>Take a lead role in training new team members on Foundation Relations and Corporate Partnerships' business rules and practices; </li><li>Support the Division and Institute's ongoing commitment to creating and maintaining an inclusive and diverse community; </li><li>Perform special projects as requested. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree required plus 4+ years of relevant work experience. Preference for candidates with previous project management experience.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; and discretion are necessary. Ability to handle multiple tasks and complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Effectiveness in working with a variety of audiences and strong customer service are key. Demonstrated ability to navigate databases and reporting; to sort, synthesize, and communicate data; and to meet deadlines is essential. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel proficiency, is required. Ability to translate data into visual representations a plus.
