<p>Description</p> <p>The Material Metrology Division at Nova is looking for a highly technical and motivated Sr. Electrical Engineer to support our growth in the semiconductor material metrology segment in Fremont, CA. You will have the opportunity to develop electronics, firmware, and controllers for metrology systems, where your embedded system design skills can be fully utilized. You'll work with cutting-edge metrology tools, work with top engineers, and participate in ongoing industry training programs. </li></ul> <p>Role Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design and implement electrical subsystems for advanced semiconductor metrology platforms, including high-voltage power systems, analog/mixed-signal circuits, and embedded components such as microcontrollers and FPGAs </li><li>Drive PCBA development through schematic design, layout, simulation, prototyping, and validation, ensuring adherence to best practices and manufacturability standards. </li><li>Develop and maintain design documentation, including specifications, power budgets, and validation plans </li><li>Work closely with principal engineers, scientists, and cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and deliver reliable, production-ready solutions </li><li>Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field </li><li>5+ years of experience in PCBA design and embedded systems programming </li><li>Strong proficiency in troubleshooting across PCBA and controller systems, with a proven ability to deliver timely and effective solutions </li><li>Expertise in designing and executing electrical design verification and characterization tests, with a solid understanding of hardware design and manufacturing test parameters </li><li>Includes developing functional, verification, and validation test plans, and writing/executing test scripts (preferably in Python or C#) </li><li>Skilled in board-level analog and mixed-signal circuit design, including schematic capture, layout, design best practices, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and DFT (Design for Testability) </li><li>Proficient in PCB CAD tools, preferably Altium Designer </li><li>Experienced in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, and other diagnostic tools </li><li>Hands-on experience with various circuit and PCBA types, including high-voltage (e.g., 5kV, 20kV), flex/rigid, vacuum, and low-noise designs </li><li>Familiar with the full product lifecycle, including defining system and PCBA requirements, conducting design reviews, and managing document releases via the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process </li><li>Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a strong drive for learning and goal achievement </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills; collaborative team player committed to fostering effective teamwork and achieving shared goals </li></ul> <p>Get to know us better:</p> <p>Nova (NASDAQ: NVMI) is a global company and a leading provider of innovative metrology solutions for process control in semiconductor manufacturing.</p> <p>With a team of ~1200 people in three R&D centers and 27 field offices, we bring insights into the world's most advanced industry.
