They perform general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the department. When functioning as a POCT, will assist in patient care throughout department, transporting patients safely via wheelchair or stretcher, bathing, obtaining vital signs, and performing other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Education, Licensure, Registration and Experience:</p> <p>High school graduate or equivalent preferred</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately</p> <p>Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals</p> <p>Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred</p> <p>Basic computer knowledge is preferred</p> <p>BLS certification required</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Customer Service:</p> <p>a. Greets customers courteously</p> <p>b. Identifies self and area and uses professional telephone etiquette</p> <p>c. Relays messages timely and accurately</p> <p>d. Acts as resource person to staff and support services</p> <p>e. Uses electronic medical record, notifying nursing staff of STAT orders, notifying ancillary department of orders as necessary, documents within forms and scans as appropriate</p> <p>Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide patient care under the direct supervision of licensed personnel.</p> <p>Transfers and discharge patient:</p> <p>a. Prints the chart and obtains needed copies of documents</p> <p>b. Organizes discharge paperwork</p> <p>c. Assist with making follow up appointments with physician</p> <p>d.
