The Power & Water Solutions business focuses on upgrading existing power plant systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid.</p> <p>https://www.emerson.com/en-us/automation/ovation</p> <p>IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:</p> <ul> <li>Support the design, configuration, and implementation of Gas Turbine controls, electrical and hardware systems for power plants to meet customer expectations </li><li>Design, create and produce electrical schematics and wiring specifications </li><li>Select, specify and review electrical hardware and device designs </li><li>Effectively work with a team of project engineers and project managers to solve problems collaboratively and share learnings </li><li>Leverage experience with customers' processes and execution methodologies to lead customer facing activities such as control system layouts, hardware configurations, electrical schematics and drawings, hardware testing, controls validation, performance testing of simulation models and acceptance tests </li><li>Contribute to global cross-functional projects by supporting senior engineers to gain exposure to different disciplines </li><li>Support the development of internal tools to improve processes and product quality </li></ul> <p>WHO YOU ARE: You enjoy building something from scratch, anticipating customer needs and providing services that are beyond customer expectations. You deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. You consult with multiple and diverse sources when solving problems.</p> <p>FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering </li><li>2+ years of related professional experience in an engineering environment </li><li>Ability to work in office located in Latham, NY </li><li>Authorised to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future </li><li>Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorisation now or in the future, are not eligible for hire. MUST be US Citizen or possess a Green Card </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering computer science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education </li><li>5 years of engineering experience in electrical systems, automation, or controls </li><li>Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD programs related to electrical and/or wiring design </li><li>Exposure to power generation systems, plant operations or industrial environments </li><li>Prior experience in drafting, electrical design, controls </li><li>Previous experience working with electrical systems and/or control systems </li><li>Interest in continuous learning and staying current with industry advancements in design and engineering of electrical, hardware and control systems </li></ul> <p>Our Culture & Commitment to You</p> <p>At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
