Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Performs a variety of professional analytical and administrative duties in support of human resources functional areas which includes policy research and analysis. Develop, plan, coordinate, and administer complex recruitment and examination process for Fire Department and Police Department uniformed personnel.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide high level and complex administrative operations and recruitment for Police and Fire Department </li><li>Provide advisory services to management and all levels of staff on uniformed services Human Resources processes and procedures </li><li>Oversee the recruitment process for Police and Fire department to include job posting, screening applicants, assisting with interviews, and proctoring entrance exams per respective CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) and Chapter 143 of Texas Government Code </li><li>Develop, coordinate and implement exam schedules </li><li>Responsible for purchase, review and approval of test materials (books, exams, etc.) </li><li>Serve as chief proctor for Police and Fire promotional examinations </li><li>Coordinate physical agility testing, written testing process, grade exams, verify seniority points for promotional exams </li><li>Responsible for posting final rosters in Human Resources as required by CBA </li><li>Coordinate the administration, development and maintenance of Police and Fire position classification by establishing and maintaining pay grades according to respective CBA </li><li>Responsible for processing all pay changes and personnel transactions including promotions, demotions, contract rate increases, annual step increases, terminations, retirements, etc. </li><li>Responsible for preparing requests for proposals (RFP's) </li><li>Participate in salary surveys as requested </li><li>Provide support materials and expertise for labor negotiations </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of or ability to learn Local Government Code Chapter 143 </li><li>Knowledge of or ability to learn Police and Fire collective bargaining agreements (CBA) with the City of Corpus Christi </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of related experience </li><li>A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered </li><li>A valid driver's license is required.
