Both candidates will be expected to teach courses in engineering management, but their research portfolios may more broadly include engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research. By assuming this position, and if you have access to critical infrastructure, you authorize the University to conduct routine background checks.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and teach courses to prepare the workforce for careers in engineering management. </li><li>Lead research projects in engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research with researchers at UT Arlington, the Dallas/Fort Worth region, and across the country. </li><li>Establish and maintain a research program through externally funded programs. </li><li>Assist in directing UT Arlington's vision in engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A Ph. D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field. </li><li>Evidence of the ability to teach and develop courses in engineering management. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Evidence of leading and developing diverse teams to solve complex engineering problems. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience conducting research in engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research. </li><li>Professional experience in engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research. </li><li>Experience developing courses in engineering management. </li><li>Ability to build successful relationships with industry. </li></ul> <p>Special Conditions for Eligibility</p> <p>Department Information</p> <p>The Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering (IMSE) Department Ph.D. offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering, as well as an M.S. in Engineering Management and multiple graduate certificate programs. It currently has about 275 students and 24 full-time faculty members.</p> <p>UTA's College of Engineering provides highly trained engineers for the workforce in North Texas and beyond. We have graduated two astronauts, many successful entrepreneurs and dozens of executives at Fortune 500 companies. Our faculty have distinguished themselves on a global stage.
