<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position functions as senior analyst with responsibilities related to preparing and implementing the department's biennial and annual operating budgets; coordinating and managing program budgets; analyzing program and organizational effectiveness; preparing analysis and fiscal estimates of proposed legislation; preparing and implementing changes to position and expenditure authority; and researching and developing department policy.</p> <p>The position also acts as a liaison with the State Budget Office related to requests for expenditure and position authority changes and submission of the biennial budget request and other related duties. In accomplishing these responsibilities, the incumbent must be knowledgeable on complex state and federal programs affecting Wisconsin veterans and their dependents, on the financial operations of long-term care facilities and of state and federal budget policies and processes.</p> <p>For a full copy of the position description, click here.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The starting salary for this position is between $36.00 - $44.33 an hour ($74,880 - $92,206 annually). The Budget & Policy Analyst Agency - Advanced classification is in pay schedule and range 81-03.</p> <p>Salaries are dependent on candidate qualifications. Compensation for current State employees may vary and will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>This position is eligible to work remotely after an initial training period. Remote work is intended to be performed primarily in the State of Wisconsin. High speed internet access is a requirement of remote work. Remote work options are subject to change based on business needs.</p> <p>Due to the nature of this position's duties, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check prior to appointment.</p> <p>Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of application. WDVA does not sponsor work or student visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.</p> <p>A twelve-month probationary period will be required.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Performing statistical, legislative, and financial analysis. </li><li>Preparing and presenting complex financial reports. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Administering or managing grants or federal funding. </li><li>Analyzing public policies and proposed policy changes. </li><li>Interpreting and applying federal or state statutes. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To be considered for this position, you must complete the online application.
