<p>A .6 Special Education teacher needed for Flaherty Elementary School. A Master's degree from an accredited institution preferred. Experience working with students within the inclusion, small groups, and individual setting, as well as experience evaluating student skills, writing reports to interpret/summarize findings, and experience writing IEPs. Special education license and SEI endorsement are required.</p> <p>The role includes:</p> <ul> <li>Providing direct and specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's Individualized Educational Program (IEP) </li><li>Assessing and monitoring student progress Employing various instructional techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals </li><li>Developing and implementing IEP plans for students Coordinating the delivery of special education services for students on caseload </li><li>Serving as Special Education liaison for the parent </li><li>Ensuring compliance with IEP timelines, maintaining accurate and complete student records, and preparing progress reports on children and activities </li><li>Providing instruction with measurable outcomes and challenging tasks </li><li>Collaborating with the general education teachers to modify and accommodate curriculum, as needed, in accordance with the student's IEP </li><li>Working with and collaborating with paraprofessionals </li><li>Other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the district or school </li></ul>
