<p>UPPER ARLINGTON CITY SCHOOLS</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Position: School-Age Child Care Program Supervisor</p> <p>Reports to: SACC Director</p> <p>Employment Status: Part time</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Description: The Program Supervisor positions primary function is to assist the Director and Program Coordinator to achieve cohesive programing at all sites in the areas of daily functions, activities, and curriculum at all SACC sites.</p> <p>NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 18 years of age </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent; degree in education, or other related field is preferred </li><li>Minimum of 3 years experience working directly with children in a childcare setting, park and recreation program or in an afterschool setting </li><li>Certified training in child abuse, recognition and prevention. Communicable disease recognition and management, first aid/CPR </li><li>Ability to produce a medical statement signed by a licensed physician's office that documents employee is free of communicable disease and fit to work with children dated prior to first day of employment, but not more than twelve months prior to employment </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director and/or Board of Education may find appropriate </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work effectively and positively with others </li><li>Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing </li><li>Effective active listening skills </li><li>Ability to manage students in small & large groups </li><li>Identify the needs of the sites and able to implement a clear, cohesive directive </li><li>Can understand and identify the individual needs of students in the program and adapt expectations and practices accordingly </li><li>Such alternatives to the above required knowledge skills and abilities as the Supervisor and/or Board of Education may find appropriate </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain tuitions, refunds and receipts (Procare) </li><li>Assist reconcile payroll </li><li>Submit work orders and keep office equipment operable </li><li>Document incident reports and record into accident management in PublicSchoolWorks </li><li>Maintain emergency drill log PublicSchoolWorks </li><li>Communicate with school personnel to orchestrate shared use of SACC and school space </li><li>Assist in designing spaces to help students feel welcome, provide safe and secure areas, and focus on special interests. (e.g., homework space, quiet corner, craft) </li><li>Instruct and implement staff on fitness curriculum (e.g., moving, shaking, stretching) to encourage outdoor, indoor activities, sports, and nature skills for all ages and skill levels </li><li>Guide/adapt schools social and emotional curriculum to be consistent in helping students build character, grow, make new friends, and achieve their goals </li><li>Educate staff on service learning projects and opportunities to give back to the community </li><li>Provide field mentorship and analyze situations to problem solve with staff for the best solution, (e.g., student behavior, incident reports) </li><li>Ensure Evacuation routes posted at sites </li><li>Help prepare, post, and review site rules with all SACC staff </li><li>Assist in extracurricular programs (e.g., Tri Village mentoring/ Pathways volunteer program) </li><li>Oversee all snack procedures,and orders food </li><li>Maintain staff calendars at all sites (sick days, planned vacations, unpaid days) </li><li>Maintaining student/family information by utilizing different programs (e.g., PowerSchool, Procare, Google docs) </li><li>Assist Director in preparing for staff training meetings, new hire orientation to meet board approved regulations </li><li>Assist Director in updating all SACC policies and procedures </li><li>Attends staff development trainings </li><li>Attends quarterly all staff meetings </li><li>Make contacts with public with tact and diplomacy </li><li>Promote good public relationships between students, staff, and community </li><li>Explains program policies and procedures to various audiences </li><li>Maintain respect at all times of confidential information at all times (e.g., student records) </li><li>Coverage at sites when needed </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Equipment Operated:</p> <ul> <li>Copy machine </li><li>Calculator </li><li>Computer/printer </li><li>Telephone/cellular phone </li><li>Projector/TV </li><li>Other office equipment as needed </li></ul> <p>Additional Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue </li><li>Occasional exposure to loud noises </li><li>Occasional interaction among, and intervention with, unruly children </li><li>Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 25 pounds (e.g., paper boxes, deliveries of supplies and equipment) </li><li>Frequently remain in a stationary period for extended periods </li><li>Frequently move and position self as necessary to access and operate equipment, provide instruction or support, supervise students, and/or maintain appropriate discipline </li><li>Frequently move around workspace and travel throughout school building and/or school District </li></ul> <p>Employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance, use in the work place throughout his/her employment with the District.</p> <p>This job description is subject to change and in no manner states or implies that these are the only duties and responsibilities to be performed by the incumbent.
