<p>Classified - Position - Central Office - Social Worker</p> <p>Job Number 2300208079</p> <p>Start Date</p> <p>Open Date 01/31/2022</p> <p>Closing Date</p> <p>What does this role entail?</p> <p>ACCEL's Advocate Counselors work as a team to meet the holistic needs of students so that they can achieve success. Counselors monitor students' attendance, behavior, and achievement. They serve as the direct liaison between the school and family. Advocate Counselors provide daily individual and group counseling to build the socio-emotional needs of students. They also help their students identify and transition to future careers. ACCEL Academy has a strong culture of excellence fostered among its staff. Each member of the faculty and staff are expected to go above and beyond to meet the diverse needs of their students.</p> <p>The Role</p> <ul> <li>Serve on student support teams and special education committees as assigned. </li><li>Review student records to identify previous barriers and/or interventions. </li><li>Conduct parent interviews to acquire socio-developmental information as needed. </li><li>Analyze information gained through record reviews and interviews to determine environmental impacts and appropriate resource needs; integrate gained information into a written report and oral presentation. </li><li>Interview students and parents to discuss issues related to non-attendance and develop a plan of action. </li><li>Assist the school in following school board regulations for excessive absences and truancy; attend student support team meetings and court intervention. </li><li>Provide individual and/or group counseling in response to individual or school-wide needs. </li><li>Conduct home visits as a method to access the family and conduct interviews in response to school referrals. </li><li>Assist students in transitioning to postsecondary success through individual student plans. </li><li>Maintain an ongoing liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet student need; refers parents and students to agencies when appropriate. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and privacy of students' records. </li><li>Perform related work as required. </li><li>Lead classroom social-emotional learning lessons weekly </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or higher in counseling, social work, or related field </li><li>Working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations </li><li>Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students </li><li>Shared dedication to the ACCEL Academy vision and mission </li><li>Good problem-solving abilities and creativity </li><li>Excellent teamwork, communication, and organization skills </li></ul> <p>Job Posting Link www.accelacademymobile.com</p> <p>Additional Job Information</p> <p>Salary is commensurate with degree and years of experience. Beginning pay - $45,000 for 222 days.
