<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Evening Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>10 hours shift - 7 on and 7 off, 2nd shift work in ED</p> <p>The Pharmacist II will prepare and dispense parenteral, enteral, and oral medications, monitor patient drug therapies, and provide drug information. The Pharmacist II will also direct support personnel.</p> <p>What a pharmacist II will do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Reviews, prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician order or prescription according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures and protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners. Suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to physicians, as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides drug information and counseling to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the training, education, precepting, and evaluation of pharmacy students and/or residents as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides work direction to pharmacy support personnel, verifies the daily activities of pharmacy technicians.</p> </li></ul> <p>What a pharmacist II will need:</p> <ul> <li> <p>One year of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Current registered pharmacist license and controlled substance license issued by the Michigan State Board of Pharmacy.</p> </li><li> <p>Five-year Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced training in at least one specialty clinical area, preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification may be required (at discretion of manager).</p> </li></ul> <p>Schedule: 2nd Shift</p> <p>Hours: 10-hour shifts</p> <p>Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off - ED unit</p> <p>Details: Staff work a full week on and then receive the following week off, repeating on a bi-weekly cycle</p> <p>Our Commitment</p> <p>Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
