<p>The pharmacy technician is a 9-month position reporting to the Pharmacy Manager. The licensed pharmacy technician is responsible for assisting with the reconciliation of third party claims and providing medication to the SU student population. Duties include: counting tablets, labeling bottles, organizing inventory, alerting the pharmacist of stock shortages, ordering of medications, processing insurances, cleaning equipment and work areas, answering calls to the pharmacy, stocking inventory, receiving orders and referring any questions regarding prescriptions, drug info or health matters to a pharmacist.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma required. </li><li>Certified pharmacy technician with NYS required. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Help assist with the reconciliation of third party claims. </li><li>Inputting of prescriptions. </li><li>Accurate counting of medication to be dispensed. </li><li>Labeling of prescriptions. </li><li>Alerting the pharmacist of any allergies, need for medication alternatives, or questions that are health related such as drug interactions. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Answering pharmacy phone calls. </li><li>Assisting students with filling prescriptions. </li><li>Accurately counting medication quantities. </li><li>Prescription labeling, organizing inventory, receiving orders from Health Services providers as well as outside providers, and alerting the pharmacist of any stock shortages. </li><li>The pharmacy technician will also refer questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health related matters to a registered pharmacist. </li><li>Reconcile third party reimbursements in the ProPharm system. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
