Maintains water treatment and laboratory equipment and facilities.</p> <p>What you will do</p> <ul> <li>Performs tests and analyses on water, steam, other fluids or materials relating to the maintenance and operation of an electric generating station. </li><li>Performs and participates in job safety briefings, safety tailgate sessions, safety reviews and safety observations. </li><li>Maintains proficiency in the operation of water treatment control systems. </li><li>Works closely with contractors on troubleshooting, repairing and/or installing equipment. </li><li>Observes, operates and initiates repairs to Combined Cycle water, steam, chemicals and any other associated systems' equipment. </li><li>Maintains an accurate operating log of assigned equipment and performs preventative maintenance to sustain equipment availability and reliability. </li><li>Performs inspections and assists with maintenance of the site, Combined Cycle and related equipment utilizing Maximo and predictive and preventive maintenance processes and procedures. Self performs when qualified. </li><li>Performs and documents routine inspections of the site, water treatment and related equipment, and collects and retains necessary data to support regulatory permit requirements and reporting. </li><li>Monitors water and associated treatment equipment performance. Prepares and maintains testing records as assigned. </li><li>Participates in the performance of warehouse activities, maintains laboratory facilities and supplies. </li><li>Calibrates and maintains sample system, water treatment and production system equipment and analyzers. </li><li>Performs and participates in regular inspections, overhauls and maintenance of all related plant equipment. </li><li>Orders, receives and unloads acid, caustic and other chemicals needed for the operation of the facility. </li><li>Safely operates mobile and heavy equipment to perform maintenance tasks. </li><li>Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions. </li><li>Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities. </li><li>Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices. </li><li>Must qualify to perform the duties of Combined Cycle Operator II or possess and maintains a DNR waste water license. </li><li>Train other employees in this job classification. </li><li>Performs other duties which are similar, related or incidental to this position. </li><li>Work shiftwork, when scheduled. </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma Required </li><li>Associate Degree Emphasis in chemistry or related area Required </li></ul> <p>Required Experience</p> <ul> <li>Possess necessary skills in basic mathematics, electricity and chemistry at the high school level. </li><li>Possess necessary skills in basic electrical, basic instrument and control and basic mechanical. </li><li>Demonstrated technical ability. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to coordinate work and work with others. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to solve problems. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>2 years of Power Plant Operations, Electrical, or Maintenance experience. </li><li>Small Waste Water System Operator Certification. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid driver's license. </li><li>Travel can include occasional overnight stays. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of plant water systems. </li><li>Interest and aptitude for analytical work. </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group. </li></ul> <p>Our people are passionate about what they do, the product they sell, and the customers they serve.
