<p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>Organization's Summary Statement:</p> <p>The University of Maryland Eastern Shore currently invites resumes for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure track position in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. The salary is commensurate with experience.</p> <p>Salary Range - $90,000 - $95,000</p> <p>Benefits: The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, as a University System of Maryland institution and a Maryland State agency, provides a comprehensive benefits package to all regular faculty and staff. The department encourages and participates in numerous collaborative efforts with local clinics, hospitals, and universities. Please see the departmental website for additional information (https://wwwcp.umes.edu/pt/).</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach courses and professional content within a DPT program and engage </li></ul> <p>in university, department, and community projects that may involve</p> <p>research and/or clinical activities for the department. Areas of instruction</p> <p>include therapeutic exercise, communication and psychosocial aspects of</p> <p>disability, physical therapy tests and measures, prosthetic rehabilitation,</p> <p>clinical judgement seminars, and other physical therapy procedures.</p> <ul> <li>Develop a scholarship agenda. </li><li>Participate in professional/service activities. </li><li>Coordinate courses as needed. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy with advanced certification credential. </li><li>Licensure as a physical therapist (or eligible for licensure and license </li></ul> <p>obtained within 90 days of employment) in the State of Maryland.</p> <ul> <li>Five (5) years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice experience </li></ul> <p>(preferably with some experience in an inpatient setting).</p> <p>Preferences:</p> <ul> <li>Candidates with completed or significant progress toward a terminal </li></ul> <p>academic doctorate degree (Ph.D., EdD, DSc, etc.)</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at </li></ul> <p>desk.</p> <ul> <li>May require lifting. </li><li>Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and </li></ul> <p>internally.</p> <ul> <li>Requires operation of a variety of office equipment. </li></ul> <p>Licenses/ Certifications: • Licensure as a physical therapist (or eligible for licensure and license obtained within 90 days of employment) in the State of Maryland.</p> <p>Additional Job Details</p> <p>Required Application Materials: Qualified applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and the names of three current professional references (current or past supervisor) including e-mail address, and telephone number (current supervisor will not be contacted without the candidate's prior consent).
