If that sounds like an organization you want to be a part of, we would love to have you.</p> <p>Schedule: Monday-Friday. 6:45 AM-3:15 PM (30 Minute Lunch)</p> <p>The Driver is primarily responsible for providing safe transportation to participants in a timely and competent manner and communicating important information relevant to the overall care plan to the multidisciplinary team.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provides transportation for passengers in a timely and competent manner which ensures patient and participant satisfaction and retention; escorts patients to and from buildings when necessary </li><li>Operates equipment safely and in compliance with vehicle licensing regulations </li><li>Reports participant or caregiver requests for changes in drop-off or pick-up locations </li><li>Follows established schedules and makes necessary adjustments to meet unanticipated changes; determines the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes while considering needs of participants and requirements of clinic and therapies and maintains narrative of route </li><li>Carries or assists one-person transfers of participants to and from vehicles and inside vehicles </li><li>Inspects and ensures vehicles is maintained to a clean and safe condition and gas tank filled each night; notifies appropriate supervisor of maintenance or repair needs </li><li>Maintains standard records, (e.g., logs of passengers and miles driven, service records, gasoline purchases) </li><li>Promptly reports to appropriate staff regarding participant-related concerns noted in home or on van; writes progress notes for documentation </li><li>Delivers medications and other supplies to participants </li><li>Follows all safety guidelines and standards; attends safety in-services and offer guidance or assistance to staff working in an unsafe manner </li><li>Reports accidents and incidents to supervisor immediately </li><li>Follows proper infection control procedures and maintain supply of emergency clean up kits </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education/Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED preferred. </li><li>Valid CA Class C driver's license required; valid CA Class A or B driver's license with passenger endorsement preferred </li><li>Two years medical, ADA, pupil, and/or elderly transportation experience preferred </li><li>Clean driving record (free from major infractions including, but not limited to, DUI, negligent, reckless, or excessive minor infractions and convictions) required </li><li>Successful completion of defensive driving and passenger assistance training courses within three months of hire </li><li>Valid BLS certification in accordance with the American Heart Association Guidelines required upon hire </li></ul> <p>Additional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to safely operate a wheelchair accessible van or vehicle. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills. </li><li>Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form </li><li>Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously </li><li>Excellent planning and organizational ability </li><li>Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently </li><li>Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs./weight. </li><li>Ability to stand for long periods of time </li></ul> <p>Neighborhood Healthcare offers a generous benefit plan that includes: Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans. Two plus weeks of vacation, Nine Holidays including two Floating Holidays of your choosing, Sick/Personal time, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), 403b Retirement plan (similar to a 401k), optional Health and Wellness events, and much more!</p> <p>Pay range: $22.88 to $30.19 per hour, depending on experience.</p> <p>Compensation Disclosure: The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: the candidate's overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.</p>
