In the absence of the Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Supervisor, the Coordinator may be asked to assist with the overall operation of the after school site.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education: High School Graduate or have a G.E.D.; Bachelor's Degree preferred</p> <p>Preferred Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Three years or more of experience working with young children in an organized setting. Six months of administrative experience or three credits in management, administration, or staff supervision. </li><li>Ability to lead large groups, manage crises, and communicate effectively with families. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed </li><li>Candidates should have a passion for working with students, families, and colleagues </li><li>Candidates must be flexible and collaborative </li><li>Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth </li></ul> <p>Alternative degrees/experience may be substituted for the above at the discretion of the Superintendent, if such a substitution brings a strong candidate forward.</p> <p>TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED</p> <ul> <li>Phone, intercom, radios, personal computer, scanner, copy machine, calculator, camera, printers. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (not limited to)</p> <p>The information contained in this job description is for compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position. Additional duties are performed by the individuals currently holding this position and additional duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Follow and implement program safety procedures regarding sign-in and sign-out. </li><li>Confirm arrival of all students each day; initiate Missing Child Procedure if a child does not arrive; and ensure that all children are signed out by an authorized parent/guardian at pick-up. </li><li>Know or ensure that appropriate staff know the whereabouts of all children in assigned groups at all times. </li><li>Be familiar with which children have epi-pens, food allergies, or other health concerns. Ensure that all appropriate measures are taken for their safety, including keeping allergy plans on file, and sharing health information with program staff, and making sure that epi-pens and inhalers are current and are carried with child when necessary. </li><li>Ensure that each group has a stocked first aid kit available, and implement all health care/emergency procedures. </li><li>Maintain accurate and complete records of student injuries and incidents. </li><li>Lead response in the event of an emergency. </li><li>Alert appropriate staff members when unusual family or personal circumstances may affect student behavior or safety. </li><li>Oversee and evaluate staff assigned to this sub-separate classroom. </li><li>Develop a monthly calendar of educational, enrichment, and recreational activities for staff to lead with this sub-separate group. </li><li>Observe and manage student behavior according to program procedures. Report progress and concerns to Site Supervisor. </li><li>Be alert and sensitive to the individual needs of the children, maintain physical and emotional safety, and support each child in developing social skills. </li><li>Be familiar with the parents of all children in assigned group. Greet and check in with families at pick-up every day. Treat all children and families with kindness and respect. </li><li>Assist with and oversee staff in the following tasks: </li><li>Set up and put away equipment (outside and inside). </li><li>Clean activity and storage spaces; leave all areas clean and free of trash/debris. </li><li>Preparation, and clean up of daily activities. </li><li>Follow all health and safety procedures. Report all injuries and incidents to the Supervisor. Document all injuries and incidents. </li><li>Know signs of child abuse and responsibilities as a mandated reporter. Understand the definition of and signs of bullying. </li><li>Be familiar with the protocols and evacuation strategies in the case of fire, lockdown, or other building emergencies. </li><li>Maintain positive relationships with school personnel with the goals of effectively sharing space; sharing information about children that will increase their success both in school and ASAP; and fostering an increased school and community awareness of the value of the ASAP program to children, families, and schools. </li><li>Be aware of students with IEPs, 504 plans, or experiencing difficulty at home or at school, with the goal of differentiating our services when possible to increase student success across all environments. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality regarding all information about program children and families. </li><li>Participate in the hiring process through interviews and on-site candidate observations. </li><li>Provide orientation to new staff and ongoing feedback and training to all classroom staff throughout the year. </li><li>Participate in leadership meetings; attend various training sessions as assigned. </li><li>Perform with accuracy, thoroughness, and follow-through </li></ul> <p>Any other relative duties as assigned.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
