<p>General Function</p> <p>Performs tasks related to the planning, organizing, and supervising the delivery of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs that support the campus community and provides opportunities for students' leadership, civic engagement, and over all student development.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>1.Collaborate with students, staff and faculty to plan, organize, promote, supervise and evaluate Student Engagement programs, events, and activities to meet the needs of students at assigned campus or campuses.</p> <p>2.Recruit, advise, and offer administrative support to the Campus Activities Board (CAB) through meetings, events, organizational communication, one-on-one conferences, team building sessions, and leadership retreats.</p> <p>3.Assist in the establishment and advisement of student club/organizations/groups, facilitates annual student group's orientations, and provides support and guidance for groups to request Student Government Association (SGA) funds during allocation periods.</p> <p>4.Recruit, Assist and advise with student leadership groups like Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa, and others.</p> <p>5.Contribute to the drafting and writing of protocols, procedures, training manuals and handbooks that ensure that student and university-recognized organizations and advisors are aware of the university and office rules, regulations and policies.</p> <p>6.Monitor the assigned budget to ensure fiscal accountability.</p> <p>7.Manage facilities and equipment request assigned to the department.</p> <p>8.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, community resources, vendors and non-profit other agencies in the course of for Student Life and Civic Engagement activities.</p> <p>9.Serves as the main contact for their assigned campus/student clubs/organizations and groups in following departmental and college guidelines, receives and approves student group paperwork related to annual registration, travel, fundraising, events, and financial transactions.</p> <p>10.Design and implement various workshops and seminars on leadership development, and team building, and other student development focused areas.</p> <p>11.Contribute to the Student Life newsletter,annual report, provide accurate information concerning activities/events dates, times and locations that may be presented in a variety of formats (i.e., fliers, social media, website, Central Piedmont Today, etc.)</p> <p>12.Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises and reviews work of assigned part-time employees work study students.</p> <p>13.Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of increasingly responsible programming experience in the area of co-curricular or extra-curricular activities, valid driver's license in North Carolina or South Carolina</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Student Development or Counseling</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of methods to conduct programming, organizing, and implementation of student activities and events </li><li>Knowledge of leadership development for volunteer-based organizations Knowledge of college policies and procedures </li><li>Leadership/supervisory skills including employee training and performance evaluation Ability to relate to students with different cultural and social backgrounds </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Typical office environment with occasional activities outdoors; infrequently lifting and carrying items up to 15 lbs.; infrequently pushing, twisting or bending at the waist, or reaching overhead; frequently traveling between buildings on campus, to other campuses or out-of-town to attend meetings and conferences; frequently listening to and talking with students, faculty and other staff members either in person or by telephone; frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, and mouse; occasional evening and weekend work hours.</p>
