<p>Aids proper patient-flow by preparing and supplying all examination rooms for scheduled appointments. Initiates and tracks paperwork resulting from consultation/examination. Escorts patient. This role excludes any direct patient care or care delivery activities (including vital signs).</p> <p>Our Non-Certified Medical Assistant Training Program offers a unique opportunity to be paid while acquiring the necessary education and skill sets to begin a career in healthcare. Upon successful completion of this 5 week program (Monday to Friday), participants will transition into a MA position systemwide. This program is offered through our Center for Learning and Innovation and will be hosted by our regional sites. It is designed for individuals who do not have prior medical assistant experience and asks for a 2-year commitment to work as a Medical Assistant at Northwell Health.</p> <p>Job Responsibility:</p> <p>1.Escorts patient to and from examination and/or procedure areas.</p> <p>2.Reviews scheduled appointments to determine needed supplies.</p> <p>3.Obtains and sets-ups supplies and equipment in advance.</p> <p>4.Initiates and tracks related paperwork such as biopsy records, prescription call-ins and renewals, and ordering supplies and equipment.</p> <p>5.Sterilizes all equipment.</p> <p>6.This role excludes any direct patient care or care delivery activities (including vital signs).</p> <p>7.Performs related duties as required. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.</p> <p>Job Qualifications:</p> <p>1.High School Diploma or equivalent required.</p> <p>2.0-1 years of relevant experience, required.</p> <p>Highly Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>1.Customer/Patient Experience, highly preferred.</p> <p>2.Some college education, highly preferred.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Comfortable commuting to Nassau County for training, highly preferred. </li></ol>
