<p>Early Childhood Assessment Team Summer Evaluations (Early Intervention/Early Childhood)- Speech and Language Pathologist</p> <p>Program Dates</p> <p>Testing takes place in June and July based on the established testing schedule.</p> <p>Staff Hours</p> <p>Hours are determined based on the testing schedule and occur between 8:00am - 4:00pm. Each evaluation takes approximately 5 hours to complete.</p> <p>Hourly Rate of Pay</p> <p>$650 per evaluation</p> <p>Special Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution </li><li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a speech-language pathologist preferred </li><li>Demonstrated experience conducting play-based, transdisciplinary evaluations with preschool-aged children </li><li>Training in or familiarity with the Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment (TPBA) model by Toni Linder preferred </li><li>Experience assessing speech, language, and communication skills within naturalistic, play-based contexts </li><li>Experience writing and contributing to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) </li><li>Bilingual in Spanish preferred </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certification, and Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Speech-Language Pathology endorsements as required by the Illinois School Code </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of early childhood communication development and the role of play in language acquisition </li><li>Knowledge of play-based, authentic, and curriculum-based assessment practices </li><li>Ability to embed communication assessment within naturalistic, play-based interactions </li><li>Skill in observing and interpreting expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language during play </li><li>Ability to integrate communication data within a transdisciplinary team framework </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Cultural and linguistic responsiveness when working with diverse populations </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations using play-based, transdisciplinary assessment approaches </li><li>Actively participate in team-based evaluation sessions utilizing the TPBA model when appropriate </li><li>Assess expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language skills within naturalistic play routines </li><li>Observe children in structured and unstructured play environments </li><li>Embed standardized and non-standardized assessment strategies within play-based interactions </li><li>Collaborate with team members during live, play-based assessment sessions to gather integrated data </li><li>Interpret evaluation results in the context of functional communication within play and daily routines </li><li>Write clear, concise, and compliant evaluation reports that reflect functional, play-based observations </li><li>Develop and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including present levels and communication goals </li><li>Participate in eligibility and IEP meetings as needed </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all legal and ethical standards </li></ul>
