<p>Who we are:</p> <p>The University of New Haven, founded on the Yale campus in 1920, is a private, coeducational university that has been recognized by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report for academic excellence. More than 100 academic programs are offered, all grounded in a long-standing commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary, project-based learning</p> <p>Adjunct instructors are hired locally or regionally to teach specific courses in which they have particular expertise. They normally teach no more than half of the full-time load. Adjunct instructors receive a letter of appointment for each semester in which they teach; they are paid on a per-course basis. No expectation of continuing employment is implied.</p> <p>The University of New Haven is searching for adjunct instructors in Sociology to begin in Fall 2026. The position supports the instructional needs of the Psychology and Sociology Department in teaching.</p> <p>You will:</p> <p>Teach one or more courses in undergraduate sociology, including Introduction to Sociology</p> <p>You need:</p> <ul> <li> <p>At least a master's degree or Ph.D. in Sociology or a related disciple (e.g. Social Work)</p> </li><li> <p>At least one year of experience teaching college-level preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent written and oral communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to prepare courses with best pedagogical practice in mind</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with instructional technology</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with, or the ability to quickly adopt, the Canvas LMS.</p> </li></ul> <p>Application Process</p> <p>Consideration of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
