Applicants may be referred for consideration as vacancies occur. </li><li>Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. </li><li>Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, General Business and Industry Series, 1101.</p> <p>SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have, or will have within 120 days of closing of this announcement, 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent), or higher (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Specialized experience is experience which includes the following tasks: Assessing and managing the cost, schedule, and technical performance progress of assigned projects or programs through the required phases of the acquisition cycle; Developing and implementing program controls; Planning, organizing, and coordinating activities related to contracting, engineering, testing, and logistics; Reviewing and directing progress of applicable contracts in meeting program objectives; and Preparing briefings, studies, and other analyses for presentation to management officials and stakeholders.</p> <p>NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management </li><li>Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices to evaluate contractor proposals and activities. </li><li>Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process. </li><li>Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit. </li><li>Ability to plan, organize, lead, and manage critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of subsystems or equipment, and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel in support of the process. </li></ul> <p>PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.</p> <p>VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
