<p>Overview</p> <p>The VIRGINIA Class Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Electrical Engineering group has an opening for a highly motivated experienced engineer to join us as a team member in the area of cableways and cable routing installation.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Lead coordination efforts between system engineering, major area team leaders, program office, design and engineering, and leadership </li><li>Lead coordination efforts between multi-system engineering groups and arrangements design </li><li>Perform non-standard cableway hanger analysis </li><li>Perform relative movement calculations, concepts, arrangement validation, cableway development, and cable routing development </li><li>Support selling ship's arrangements to the government </li><li>Candidate must be organized and able to manage relationship between ships requirements and arrangement compliance </li><li>Responsible for cost and schedule performance of assigned tasks </li><li>Responsible for managing multiple projects and/or assigned tasks </li><li>Responsible for developing and presenting system information/status as the design progresses </li><li>Develop and peer review ERs /CNs </li></ul> <p>Candidates must be highly motivated, work independently and be able to positively interact with other engineering disciplines, vendors, design and the government.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering </li><li>0-2 years of engineering experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Background and experience working and/or interfacing with the construction and planning yards </li><li>Experience with any of the following: DC power supply design, cathodic protection theory, electric field theory, magnetic field theory, software development, electronics design, lighting, communications </li><li>Experience with fatigue/stress analysis specifically with using Commands software. </li><li>Familiarity with TeamCenter / Vismock / Catia /CDM </li><li>Familiarity with systems engineering principals </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong written and oral communication skills </li></ul>
