<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The HRIS Systems & Data Integration Lead is responsible for overseeing the integrity, security, and seamless integration of Challenger School Foundation's HRIS (Dayforce) and associated enterprise data environments. Located onsite at our Sandy, Utah headquarters, this role reports directly to the Director of Human Resources, with a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Research. The incumbent will steward highly sensitive employee data-medical, financial, legal, and personal-requiring expertise in secure data handling, governance, and compliance (I.e. HIPAA…) This individual will also collaborate with Challenger's data architect to ensure synergistic integration of HRIS systems with broader data infrastructure goals.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>HRIS Administration and Security Oversight </li></ol> <ul> <li>Administer, maintain, and configure Dayforce, ensuring system integrity, confidentiality, uptime, and rigorous role-based security. </li><li>Oversee Dayforce system updates, user provisioning, role audits, and compliance-driven access policies. </li><li>Conduct regular audits of usage logs and access privileges to ensure full compliance with internal and external security policies. </li><li>Maintain ETL (or ELT) connectors related to HRIS data (e.g., Fivetran, Datalakehouse.io) across enterprise on-prem and cloud platforms. </li><li>Maintain HRIS data assets in the Snowflake Human Resources account. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Vendor Coordination and Qualtrics Ticket Management </li></ol> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary HRIS liaison to Ceridian (Dayforce), overseeing updates, patches, and secure technical correspondence. </li><li>Manage HRIS-related tickets in Qualtrics (especially payroll, benefits, or security-related issues) with efficient, confidential resolution. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Secure Data Integration and Governance </li></ol> <ul> <li>Implement, monitor, and document secure integrations between Dayforce, Snowflake, PowerSchool SIS, and other enterprise systems. </li><li>Implement security-conscious ETL/ELT processes across both on-prem and cloud systems (e.g., Fivetran), using sandboxing and managed Snowflake access. </li><li>Enforce strict governance protocols for external code execution in Snowflake and enterprise environments, with audit trails and approvals. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Data Mapping, Canonical Structures, and Auditing </li></ol> <ul> <li>Conduct precise data mapping and transformations across platforms, maintaining canonical formats and referential integrity. </li><li>Continuously audit and document workflows, integrations, and sensitive data transfers to mitigate risks and maintain legal compliance. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>Advanced Analytics and Cross-Departmental Data Collaboration </li></ol> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the Director of Research on secure integration of HR data for analytics initiatives, maintaining data partitioning between production and research zones. </li><li>Uphold strict access control (least privilege, role-based) for all users accessing HR data. </li><li>Maintain and support HR-owned AI and reporting tools, including providing technical support and troubleshooting for HR teams. </li><li>Partner with the data architect to ensure alignment of HR datasets with enterprise-wide data modeling practices. </li></ul> <ol start="6"> <li>Compliance, Documentation, and Security Auditing </li></ol> <ul> <li>Create and maintain clear documentation for payroll calculations, DSAL (Deferred Salary) processing, benefit deductions, and salary banks. </li><li>Conduct routine security audits and privacy reviews in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR, and Challenger's internal governance policies. </li></ul> <ol start="7"> <li>HRIS Workflow and User Training </li></ol> <ul> <li>Develop and implement secure workflows and employee-facing portals within Dayforce and Dayforce Hub aligned with Challenger security standards. </li><li>Provide documentation, training sessions, and best practices for HR staff and cross-functional teams on compliant HRIS usage. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Skills</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Data Management, or related field. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of HRIS administration experience, including 3+ years leading secure, enterprise-grade integrations. </li><li>Advanced proficiency in SQL, database systems, and cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake). </li><li>Expertise in ETL, secure API usage, and governance frameworks involving sensitive personnel data. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Information Systems, HR, Data Management, or related field. </li><li>Experience working with multi-departmental data teams, especially involving research and analytics functions. </li><li>Proven implementation of artificial intelligence tools and automation methods within the HR domain. </li></ul> <p>Preferred (Not Required) Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Snowflake SnowPro Certification </li><li>Dayforce HCM Certification </li><li>HR Certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) </li></ul> <p>Desired Technical and Security Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Deep knowledge of data privacy laws and frameworks </li><li>Expertise in encryption practices for data at-rest, in-transit, and in cache. </li><li>Strong grasp of Challenger and industry standards in PII protection: Dynamic Data Masking, Row- and Column-level security, secure views/functions, data classification, and tagging. </li><li>Familiarity with Snowflake sandbox security, external access protocols, and curated package governance. </li><li>Track record of securing external code execution and preventing unauthorized data exfiltration. </li></ul> <p>Security and Privacy Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate ongoing governance of secure network integration, especially within Snowflake. </li><li>Ensure granular access control using the least privilege principle, with dynamic monitoring and logging of all integration endpoints. </li><li>Apply best practices in encrypted storage and dynamic privacy filters. </li><li>Vigilantly manage code libraries, dependency reviews, and sandbox executions to prevent privilege escalation or data leakage. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This is a 100% onsite position at Challenger's Sandy, Utah corporate office. Due to the sensitivity of HRIS and payroll data, the workplace is structured around rigorous security protocols and limited-access environments.
