<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Department of Psychology at Marietta College invites applications for a full time, tenure track position beginning in the Fall of 2026. We are a cohesive and collegial department seeking an engaged colleague with a demonstrated commitment to the liberal arts, to mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and to teaching. The ideal candidate is a gifted teacher with a strong background in Experimental Psychology, with a specialty in either Social or Cognitive Psychology. The Candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Statistics. This faculty will contribute to the Psychology curriculum with opportunity to teach special topics courses.</p> <p>The Department offers a popular BA degree in Psychology, a BS in Neuroscience, and a MA in General Psychology. These programs provide faculty an opportunity to collaborate with undergraduate and graduate students in their area of specialization. We also service other signature programs within the college, including the general education curriculum.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Candidates should have a Ph.D. by August 2026</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>EXPECTATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated commitment to effective teaching at the college level. This may be evidenced by a clearly stated teaching philosophy, engagement in pedagogical training and development opportunities, or strong teaching evaluations </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to mentoring undergraduate students, including first generation and underrepresented college students, e.g., involving undergraduates in faculty-directed research and/or mentoring undergraduate students on independent research </li><li>Evidence of a program of high-quality research in an area of Experimental Psychology </li><li>Experience in or demonstrated commitment to service at the department, college, and professional level </li><li>Experience in or demonstrated commitment to contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment and to partner broadly across campus to serve the needs of the college and its students </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references.
