<p>The primary role of Sr. Manufacturing Equipment Engineer is leading the Central Tooling Management (CTM) team to provide tooling support for Gigafactory Nevada, minimize production downtime, troubleshoot and repair of torque tools, improve quality of fastened joints, and be a significant contributor to the overall success of the factory. Additionally, the successful individual will be the subject matter expert on torque tools supporting other Tesla manufacturing locations.</p> <ul> <li>Manage 6/8 Calibration Technicians on providing 24/7 support to tooling line calls, as well as sustaining activities such as torque audits, and calibration and maintenance of tools. Additionally, the recruiting and training of new team members </li><li>Establishing and maintaining the whole torque tool ecosystem. (Inventory, setup, repair, network management and data management) </li><li>Ownership of calibration due dates and active communication with Maintenance Planners/Line Mgmt. to coordinate calibration operations during extended downtime. Active hands-on participation and support for large scale calibration operations </li><li>Manage standard sockets/extensions; develop sockets and extensions for project teams </li><li>Function as a Fastening Expert through providing 2nd/3rd level technical support for Equipment and Process engineering (programming, alignment, rebalancing) </li><li>Run TTF (Torque to Failure) for NPI and Quality on demand. Set up the equipment offline and provide a full report/study </li><li>Manage inventory of torque tools and critical components, including RMA </li><li>Assist Quality teams to understand and conduct residual torque measurement </li><li>Manage the following: ToolsTalk2 Server for all PF6000 controllers factory wide, user access and user rights to Atlas Copco ToolsTalk2 server, and Atlas Copco Virtual Stations and TT2 licenses on Server and FMS </li><li>Expertise in electric, pneumatic and battery-powered torque tools </li><li>Working knowledge of network communications </li><li>Strong data analysis skills </li><li>Preferred: experience with Atlas Copco systems, electrical and mechanical repairs </li><li>Preferred: good understanding of engineering principles, tightening/fastening strategies </li><li>Preferred: proficient in Fieldbus, PLC and ToolsNet intercommunication </li><li>Preferred: Fastening trace analysis for proper clamp load development </li><li>Use of spreadsheet and other office software (i.e. MS Office) </li><li>Preferred: experience with data analysis software (i.e. Access) </li><li>Ability to excel under pressure with competing demands and tight deadlines </li></ul>
