<p>Location: Des Moines, IA</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>PRIMARY PURPOSE: Housby is seeking a detail-oriented Valuations Specialist to join our growing team! This role is responsible for conducting accurate, timely valuations and appraisals of heavy trucks, machinery, and equipment, with a strong focus on reviewing field inspections and supporting valuation research. The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring the accuracy of online listings and support the Valuation Manager in maintaining high industry standards. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Provide final review of field inspection reports, including comments, photos, videos, and listing details. </li><li>Verify that inspection content aligns with industry standards for effective online search and customer usability. </li><li>Conduct research on equipment values using a variety of sources, including auctions, retail data, and appraisal platforms. </li><li>Perform accurate, high-quality valuations of heavy trucks and equipment. </li><li>Spot-check and correct online listings for errors, omissions, and inconsistencies. </li><li>Assist the Valuation Manager with data analysis and special valuation projects. </li><li>Communicate with internal teams to gather missing information and resolve discrepancies. </li><li>Maintain detailed records of valuation data and appraisal decisions. </li><li>Perform field inspections, as needed. </li><li>Maintain and build strong internal and external relationships. </li><li>Uphold a professional image and adhere to all company safety rules and procedures. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience in equipment inspections, inventory, or appraisals highly preferred (auction or heavy equipment industry experience is a plus). </li><li>Solid knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment. </li><li>Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with valuation software is a plus. </li><li>Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. </li><li>Comfortable using technology and online tools to support valuation tasks. </li><li>Willingness to pursue valuation/appraisal certification from an accredited institute. </li><li>Must have a valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and the ability to travel as needed. </li><li>Must embody and uphold Housby's Core Values. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required. </li><li>Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Oral communication over the phone and in person. </li><li>Ability to view a computer monitor. </li><li>Sitting for extended periods of time. </li><li>Alpha/numeric keyboarding. </li><li>Ability to travel, as needed. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Primarily an office setting in a team environment. </li><li>Remote opportunity available for applicants outside of Iowa. </li><li>The work environment for this position can vary due to the differences in our work site.
