<p>JOB GOAL:</p> <p>To assist Special Programs and District Certified Behavior Specialist with the implementation and training of research-based behavioral strategies and programming.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Ten (10) month (200 days) contract, Salary Range 108, NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon experience. FLSA: Non-Exempt.</p> <p>This position is reviewed annually and is contingent upon grant funding</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of five (2) years job experience in public or private sector. BA degree preferred. </li><li>Minimum of five (2) years in public education with job experience working with at-risk students. </li><li>Experience in training and implementation of behavioral interventions. </li><li>Must display knowledge of basic computer skills (Word Processing). </li><li>Sensitivity to language and cultural differences. </li><li>Excellent communication and social skills. </li><li>Demonstrates a strong understanding of working with children and adults. </li><li>Commitment to the importance of confidentiality of records. </li><li>Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education. </li></ul> <p>Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.</p> <ul> <li>Provides on-going consultation to school personnel in dealing with students experiencing problems. </li><li>Works collaboratively with school administration and other personnel in facilitating the implementation of appropriate strategies and techniques. </li><li>Works directly with teachers in assessing students' social/behavioral needs and in designing and implementing behavior management plans to meet the needs of disabled and non-disabled students. </li><li>Works with teachers and other school personnel in conducting effective social skills training and crisis prevention/Safety Care Training. </li><li>Provides technical assistance and support for the instructional improvement process. </li><li>Provides in-service training of school personnel on behavior interventions, crisis prevention interventions and anger management. </li><li>Participates in professional growth and development activities. </li><li>Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Schedules and/or attends conferences with parents. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure confidentiality of student and employee records. </li><li>Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. </li><li>Performs all other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.</p>
