<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Come join our team at the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) where you will experience work-life balance, great benefits, and an exciting career that supports the Agency's mission to make South Carolina a safe place to work and live.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>You will conduct scheduled health consultation visits at general industry and/or construction sites to detect hazards and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. </li><li>You will submit written consultation reports, documenting alleged hazards, and formulating recommendations for corrective action to be completed within set time frames. </li><li>You will monitor corrective action dates, close consultation files, submit weekly paperwork related to consultation activities, and prepare other reports as required. </li><li>You will promote and assist with Outreach and Education training classes and programs that seek to reduce industrial accidents and provide training to other OSHA employees as requested. </li><li>You may participate as a team member on Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) onsite audits and serve as a representative on panel discussions for various safety and health professional organizations. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma and experience in environmental health programs or radiological health. </li><li>A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or a related technical field may be substituted for the required work experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree and twelve (12) semester hours in chemistry. </li><li>Three (3) years' experience in industrial hygiene programs. </li><li>Successful completion of the OSHA Training Program plus one (1) year of experience in Occupational Safety and Health. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of industrial processes and equipment in a variety of light and heavy industries. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of industrial hygiene testing techniques and equipment. </li><li>Knowledge of applicable State health standards and safety and health hazards. </li><li>Ability to work with computers, systems, and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form. </li><li>Ability to make decisions and interpret State rules and regulations. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid driver's license and 10-year MVR that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines. </li><li>Must be able to drive a state or personal vehicle to complete assigned job duties. </li><li>Required weekly travel with possible overnight stays. </li><li>May require occasional work outside of normal office hours. </li><li>Must be physically able to navigate an industrial worksite. </li><li>May be required to pass a medical clearance and fit test for respirator use. </li><li>May be required to wear a respirator. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Benefits Offered</p> <p>The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation offers an exceptional benefits package for FTE positions that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Health, dental, vision, long term disability, and life insurance for employee, spouse, and children </li><li>15 days annual (vacation) leave per year </li><li>15 days sick leave per year </li><li>13 paid holidays </li><li>Paid Parental Leave </li><li>State Retirement Plan and Deferred Compensation Programs </li></ul>
