<p>POSITION SUMMARY The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Resident (APRN) functions as a member of the Psychiatry team and applies related skills acquired through their training to the treatment of Wheeler's patient population. The selected candidates will receive continuous mentorship while providing patients with direct clinical care and engage in formal weekly educational didactics, grand rounds with CME accreditation, quality improvement projects, and receive certification and training in new and alternative modalities of treatment including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Esketamine Therapy. Wheeler residents will leave our residency program with enhanced clinical skills and tools to make a lasting impact on community health.</p> <p>Salary: $82,000</p> <p>Learn more about our residency program here</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Master of Science in Nursing and board-certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credentialing Center are required.</p> <p>Credential(s) Required: Licensed Registered Nurse and licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. Develops and documents clear clinical formulations in a timely manner. Demonstrates a basic knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and effective modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations. Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for identified service needs in a timely manner. Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers. Attends any required meetings, didactics and supervision. Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols. Documents all client related information in compliance with agency policy. Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives. Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program. Communicates in a professional, positive, and effective manner with all clients, families, and collaborating professionals.
