<p>NSLS-II Electrical Design Group has an opening for a Principal Drafter for a 2-year term position. Reporting to the Design Group Supervisor, the candidate will perform drafting duties in support of NSLS-II Accelerator Division. This position will require close interaction with technicians, engineers and scientific staff. The main task will be to provide electro-mechanical drafting, document revision control, and library creation/management, using a variety of CAD/CAM platforms. Tasking will also include provision of drafting support for development and special project initiatives.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>CAD library creation/management </li><li>Create and maintain Schematic and PCB Symbols per IPC-2221 </li><li>Experience with ECN Processes (Engineering Change Notification) </li><li>Ability to work directly with scientific, engineering and technical staff </li><li>Maintain and implement safety practices and procedures applicable to daily activities </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus: </li><li>A technical institute, Adult BOCES certification, AA degree in a technical field, CCI program completion at BNL plus 2 years' experience or; </li><li>A technical high school certification program and 3 years relevant work experience or; </li><li>4 years' relevant work experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Some knowledge of AutoCAD Design Software </li><li>Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office products </li><li>Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of technical staff </li><li>Overtime may be requested at times </li></ul> <p>Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional work at heights, extreme temperature, confined space, oxygen deficiency, radiation areas, static magnetic fields, on scaffolding and ladders </li><li>Must be able to complete tasks repeatedly </li><li>Must have ability to view color, depth perception and hearing </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <ul> <li>Work arrangement (On-Site), Security Clearance, drivers' license, travel requirements, etc </li></ul> <p>Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation.
