<p>Work Flexibility: Onsite</p> <p>We are currently seeking a Senior Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to make an impact on our Orthopedic Instrumentation(OI) team.</p> <p>Click to know more about the Team: Orthopedic Instrumentation</p> <p>You will need to live within commuting distance to our 1941 Stryker Way, Portage, MI</p> <p>You will need to be in the office 5 days a week.</p> <p>As a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer on our OI R&D team, you'll design innovative surgical power tool technologies, collaborate closely with customers, and lead projects from concept to commercialization.</p> <p>What You Will Do:</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and evaluate components and systems for medical devices, translating complex user needs into clear system designs and specifications. </li><li>Conduct advanced prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting to validate and optimize designs. </li><li>Guide cross-functional teams in technology exploration, implementation, and product development. </li><li>Drive competitive strategies by leveraging market trends, clinical insights, and innovation opportunities. </li><li>Ensure compliance with medical device standards, regulatory requirements, and internal R&D processes. </li><li>Mentor team members, promote knowledge sharing, and contribute to documentation and design history files. </li><li>Partner effectively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Marketing, and Project Management to deliver high-quality results. </li><li>Lead process improvements, prototype development, and technical initiatives while inspiring collaboration across teams. </li></ul> <p>What You Need</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field with directly relevant experience. </li><li>6+ years of relevant experience. </li><li>Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (Creo preferred). </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Expertise in customer-centered design and DFM principles. </li><li>Experience with mechanical/electro-mechanical assemblies, GD&T, and CAE tools. </li><li>Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and product optimization. </li><li>Clear communication of technical plans to diverse teams. </li></ul> <p>Travel Percentage: 10%</p> <p>Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
