Join this exemplary and dedicated team!</p> <p>As a Financial Specialist I with the Department of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) you will:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor, track, audit and process reoccurring financial transactions for the EMS Billing division to ensure accurate and timely recording of data by developing and analyzing reports, transmitting files, performing detailed reconciliations, summarizing financial information, documenting and recommending needed changes. </li><li>Work with third party billing vendor to troubleshoot issues, and adjust, research and resolve problems/errors/omissions. </li><li>Create, review and maintain financial worksheets and regular reports to support the Department of EMS. </li><li>Manage the collection of account receivables by collecting and recording payments. </li><li>Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely records that track the financial transactions for division's program(s), service(s), contract(s) and/or project(s). </li><li>Effectively communicate with city employees, external agencies, and customers on financial status and transactions. </li><li>Improve accountability and reduced or eliminate errors for financial transactions </li><li>Communicate with city employees, vendors, external agencies, and internal and/or external customers regarding accounts, services, manage collected funds, discuss and resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and city regulations and policies. </li></ul> <p>The City offers a generous benefits package, which includes health, dental and life insurance, retirement and savings plans, maternity/paternity and parental leave, holidays and paid leave time.</p>
