<p>Old Rochester Regional School District/ MA Superintendency Union #55 is seeking a passionate and innovative moderate disabilities special education teacher for Center School in Mattapoisett, MA. This position will entail responsibilities for day-to-day management of the assigned classes, provision of instruction and supervision of classroom staff.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Providing opportunities for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. </li><li>Encouraging students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior and achievement, which includes working with support staff when needed. </li><li>Collaboration with related service providers. </li><li>Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students' needs. </li><li>Employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media. </li><li>Writing and implementing student IEPs. </li><li>Conducting achievement testing and writing corresponding reports. </li><li>Attending IEP meetings. </li><li>Tracking progress and quarterly reports in regards to IEP goals and achievement. </li><li>Ongoing parental contact. </li></ul> <p>The mission of our school system is to inspire all students to think, to learn, and to care.</p>
