<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Empower Students Through Education</p> <p>Oak Hill is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Paraprofessional for Instruction to assist with instructional support for students with developmental and other disabilities. We're dedicated to empowering our staff through professional development, tuition reimbursement, and career pathways that support your advancement in special education.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Paraprofessional Instruction at Oak Hill's Avon classroom works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. You will assist in implementing students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), providing instruction and support for individual students inside and outside the classroom. You'll focus on creative strategies and instructional techniques that empower students to progress and achieve greater quality of life and self-direction.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in education, child development, or related field; OR enrollment in a higher education program leading to a degree in education, child development, or related field AND at least 5 years of experience </li><li>Completion of required Oak Hill School curriculum within 3 months of hire </li><li>Valid driver's license </li><li>Eligible for a Public Service license with a "V" endorsement (required for operation of student transportation vehicles), facilitated through Oak Hill during initial employment period. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Generous paid vacation, sick, and personal time, plus paid holidays </li><li>Affordable medical, dental, and vision benefits (Oak Hill funds up to 50% of your HSA) </li><li>403(b) retirement plan (Oak Hill contributes 9.5% at no cost to you) </li><li>Free and low-cost life insurance options and free long-term disability insurance </li><li>Excellent professional development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and career pathways </li><li>Staff recognition and appreciation programs </li><li>Paid training, education, and certification as necessary (including CPR training) </li></ul> <p>This is a union position which pays $20.88 per hour.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist the teacher in implementing academic and/or vocational instruction to students individually or in small groups to support Individualized Education Plans </li><li>Create and maintain a supportive learning environment and model appropriate behaviors to assist students in developing social skills </li><li>Safely assist students into and out of school transportation; transport students to and from school as needed </li><li>Assist the teacher in planning instructional content and activities aligned with standards that build on students' prior knowledge and provide appropriate challenge levels </li><li>Support ongoing observation and assessment, record instructional and behavioral data, and assist in developing appropriate techniques to reinforce learning </li><li>Modify materials and implement instructional and behavior management strategies under the direct supervision of the Special Education Teacher </li></ul> <p>Oak Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
