Please refer to the link for more information: https://gov.nv.gov/Newsroom/ExecOrders/2025/executive-order-2025-002/ Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.</p> <p>The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Mental Health Technician 1 underfilling a Mental Health Technician 3 to be located at the PRTF North program in Reno. Youth served by the PRTF program are designated as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and exhibit significant behavioral challenges including physical and verbal aggression, non-compliance, challenges to authority figures, school problems (academic and behavioral), peer and social difficulties, and family issues. This position provides care, training, and treatment to adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a residential setting at the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, PRTF North. The selected candidate will work directly with youth ages 12 through 17 with mental health and behavioral health issues. Mental Health Technicians work directly with youth individually, in a group setting, and with families. Selected candidate will work with youth in crisis, complete safety checks, run precautions, complete safety protocols, and respond to emergency situations according to policy and procedures.
