This includes the development, implementation, and maintenance of calibration and testing related procedures, the execution of the tests, and the evaluation of test data. The test data can be obtained from various platforms like a motor dyno, back-to-back drive unit dynos, or the actual vehicle. In general, it is expected that the motor controls calibrations engineer will stay informed about industry trends, be the first person of contact for validation and testing activities, and contribute to technology roadmaps and customer-facing attributes

What you'll do...

Develop and implement drive unit calibrations for automotive traction inverter systems, ensuring reliability, safety, optimal performance and efficiency.

Develop and implement test procedures and test routinesto qualify the drive unit.

Develop scripts to evaluate test data and prepare concise and clear illustrations of test results.

Participate in technical discussions related to features that impact the efficiency of the drive unit.

Develop block and system diagrams to showcasecalibration procedures and test flows.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test and validation plans.

Utilize necessary tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency response analyzers to bring-up and test controls on target hardware.

Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts to identify and resolve control system-related issues, and implement corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability.

Stay current with industry trends and advancements in control theory, power electronics, and automotive technologies, and apply this knowledge to enhance control system designs and functionalities.

Support the development of validation and verification plans.

Participate in testing and validation activities to ensure control system performance and safety requirements are met.
