At the Ideal Tridon Group, connections aren't just what we make-they're the heart of everything we do.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Toolmaker A will be responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and modification of tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.</p> <p>We are seeking a 2nd Shift Tool Maker to join our team at Ideal Tridon Group!</p> <p>Shift: 2nd 3:00pm-11:00pm</p> <p>Schedule: Monday-Friday</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Fabricates, maintains, repairs, and modifies various types of tooling, including molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures, to support production needs. </li><li>Sets up and operates manual and CNC machine tools, such as lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines, to perform machining operations on tooling components. </li><li>Conducts precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications. </li><li>Performs preventive maintenance tasks on tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity. </li><li>Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues with tooling and implements corrective actions to resolve problems and minimize downtime. </li><li>Maintains accurate documentation of tooling maintenance, repair, and modification activities. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of various types of tooling, including molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures. </li><li>Experience in setting up and operating manual and CNC machine tools, such as lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines. </li><li>Precision measurement skills and ability to use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues with tooling. </li><li>Effective communication skills. </li><li>Attention to detail and ability to work with high precision and accuracy. </li><li>Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules. </li><li>Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and specifications. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experince:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent education and experience required. </li><li>Three years of experience in toolmaking, including fabrication, maintenance, and repair of tooling components required. </li><li>Well-rounded experience in metal stamping, training in the machine shop, and Toolroom practices (functions usually acquired through a formal Toolmaker apprenticeship or a minimum of 4 to 6 years equivalent Toolroom training or on-the-job experience in a metal stamping Toolroom environment with a formal machine shop or previous machine tool education. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. </li><li>Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms. </li><li>May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment. </li><li>Must be able to lift 80 pounds at a time. </li></ul> <p>An Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, genetic information, or any other status protected by law or regulation.
