If you're not familiar with ATP, check out their website: https://atp.nebraska.gov/</p> <p>We're hiring an Assistive Technology Specialist to focus on home and vehicle modifications that help people with disabilities gain greater independence in everyday tasks that other may take for granted. In this role, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, vendors, contractors, families, and individuals to develop creative, functional solutions that make a real impact.</p> <p>This position is based in Lincoln or Omaha. We're looking for someone who is a strong communicator, works well independently, and enjoys problem-solving. If that sounds like you, and you're ready to join a great team with supportive leadership, apply today and help Nebraskans live more independently in their own homes and communities!</p> <p>The Nebraska Department of Education does not sponsor or transfer non-immigrant work visas for these positions.</p> <p>Office Location: This position is assigned to our office located in Lincoln or Omaha.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Designs and provides technical assistance (e.g., use, modification, maintenance, repair) related to home and vehicle modifications and other assistive devices. </li><li>Participates in awareness activities at various conferences and events. </li><li>Provides technical assistance to employers, educators, professionals, and family members of people with disabilities regarding assistive devices (e.g., their design, use, modification, maintenance, and repair). </li><li>Documents and manages case information, develops customized plans and specifications for projects, completes evaluation reports, monitors case progress, and shares updates. </li><li>Maintains regular & reliable attendance, possesses a valid driver's license and travels independently, and works in a variety of settings. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Travel:</p> <p>This position requires approximately 35% of work time spent in an office environment; the remaining 65% is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as meetings and conferences within the community, including private households. There is also approximately two days of overnight travel per year.</p> <p>Requirements / Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Education in architecture, drafting, construction, or occupational therapy and physical therapy related fields.
