<p>Job Description:</p> <p>This position is a full-time appointment in the Office of Business and Fiscal Affairs with an anticipated appointment in June 2025. This is a calendar year (twelve-month) professional appointment designated UUP.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The Advancement Financial Analyst will be responsible for the accounting and reporting for the SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill Foundation, Inc., Alumni Association, and Alumni Commons.</p> <p>The Advancement Financial Analyst will support duties as needed within the Business & Fiscal Affairs Office.</p> <p>Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for general ledger account maintenance. </li><li>Process operating transactions: cash receipts; cash disbursements; accounts payable; accounts/pledges receivable; journal entries. </li><li>Calculate and record investment earnings and associated fees to individual accounts. </li><li>Responsible for bank, credit card and investment account reconciliations. </li><li>Assist with monthly gift reporting reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with required policies. </li><li>Oversee annual independent financial statement audits as well as communicate with auditors to ensure accounting practices comply with all State University of New York, state and federal rules and regulations. </li><li>Prepare monthly financial reports and Treasurers Reports for all Boards of Directors. </li><li>Provide budget preparation assistance and budget monitoring. </li><li>Assist with preparation of Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey. </li><li>Input interdepartmental journal transfers into the NYS Financial Management System (FMS). </li><li>Represent the Office of Business & Fiscal Affairs on campus-wide committees. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associates degree in a related field. </li><li>Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook.) </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Strong written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Organization, initiative and attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>In addition to the aforementioned minimum qualifications, it is preferred the candidate also have:</p> <ul> <li>At least two years' experience, preferably with endowment funds, in not-for-profit or foundation setting. </li><li>Working knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge Nxt, or other not-for-profit accounting software a plus. </li><li>Experience with higher education. </li><li>Experience with SUNY systems. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>The salary for this position is $55,151. </li><li>This is a full-time position. </li><li>The schedule is Monday through Friday days. </li><li>This position offers full New York State benefits which are some of the most comprehensive in the country. </li><li>SUNY Cobleskill is committed to providing a safe and productive learning and living community for our students and employees.
