<p>McCall Middle School .3 FTE Art Teacher:</p> <p>Preferred Applicants should have the following, but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Licensure in Secondary Visual Art 5-12 in the state of Massachusetts </li><li>Substantial experience with the use and instruction of a wide variety of 2D, 3D, and digital materials </li><li>Solid understanding of the State and National Art Standards </li><li>Broad knowledge of and familiarity with historical and contemporary artists and period styles, the techniques and processes associated with drawing, painting, and three-dimensional studio materials including clay/ceramics, and a working knowledge of the elements and principles of art and design. </li><li>Flexibility and a willingness to learn and try new things </li><li>Demonstrate strong organizational skills, classroom/studio management, and ability to collaborate. </li><li>All applicants must submit a teaching portfolio that includes unit and lesson plan examples, student artwork, and most recent personal artwork. </li></ul> <p>Role & Responsibilities</p> <p>The teacher will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide opportunities for students to appreciate art and develop their artistic expressions, while helping young students work and share collaboratively and to develop a strong sense of respect for self and others. </li><li>Participate in the arts curriculum review and design, and work cooperatively with a team to develop a strong school program incorporating both state and district frameworks. </li><li>Collaborate and integrate with faculty across disciplines to build meaningful curricular connections. </li><li>Assess student performance/work and communicate feedback to students and families regularly through district-designated evaluation procedures and protocols. </li><li>Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students' work for the school and the community. </li><li>Align Content and instruction to the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Frameworks and district scope and sequences. </li><li>Abide by state statutes, school board policies, district handbook, and regulations. </li><li>Remain current by participating in ongoing professional development activities within and out-of-district, such as instructional technology. </li></ul>
