<p>Join a Pediatric Team That Loves What We Do.</p> <p>Help Us Care for the Children of West Virginia-Day and Night.</p> <p>CAMC Women and Children's Hospital-part of Vandalia Health-is a regional leader in comprehensive pediatric care. Located in the heart of Charleston, WV, our hospital provides dedicated, family-centered services ranging from Level IIIB Neonatal Intensive Care to inpatient pediatric medicine, pediatric surgery, emergency care, and a broad array of subspecialties.</p> <p>We are expanding our Inpatient Pediatric Night Team and are seeking three Advanced Practice Providers (APRNs/PAs) who are passionate about acute pediatric care, thrive in collaborative environments, and value both autonomy and strong clinical support.</p> <p>Why This Role Is Special</p> <p>This is not a "float and figure it out" night shift. Our APPs are essential members of the pediatric inpatient care team.</p> <p>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Work in tandem with pediatric resident physicians overnight to provide seamless, high-quality care to hospitalized children. </li><li>Manage a mix of independent APP patients and collaborative care patients shared with the resident and attending teams. </li><li>Participate in ED pediatric consults, transfer evaluations, and inpatient admissions. </li><li>Engage with a multidisciplinary team including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, nursing, case management, pediatric subspecialists, and our on-call attending team. </li><li>Help maintain clinical stability, safe escalation pathways, and continuity of care overnight for our pediatric unit. </li></ul> <p>Exceptional Onboarding & Support</p> <p>We understand that night-shift inpatient pediatrics requires confidence, experience, and strong team integration.</p> <p>A Robust, Graduated Onboarding Program:</p> <ul> <li>Dedicated daytime onboarding with the pediatric inpatient team </li><li>Graduated autonomy model ensuring you feel supported before transitioning to nights </li><li>Opportunities to round, admit, and manage patients alongside residents and attending physicians </li><li>Access to pediatric subspecialists during training </li></ul> <p>Ongoing Overnight Support:</p> <ul> <li>Attending pediatric hospitalist available 24/7 for consultation and discussion </li><li>A collaborative resident physician team in-house </li><li>Strong multidisciplinary support from nursing, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and more </li></ul> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of pediatric inpatients. </li><li>Manage independent patient assignments and contribute to shared care plans. </li><li>Perform and document detailed histories, physical exams, and therapeutic procedures. </li><li>Participate in ED consults and assist with evaluation of admissions and transfers. </li><li>Collaborate with residents, attending physicians, and multidisciplinary partners to deliver safe, evidence-based care. </li><li>Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and expectations. </li><li>Support quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and policy development within the pediatric service line. </li><li>Demonstrate competency in developmentally appropriate pediatric care across the inpatient age spectrum. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies (required) </li><li>Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) - within 30 days of hire </li><li>Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)- within 90 days of hire </li><li>Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - within 90 days of hire </li><li>Pediatric experience preferred, but strong new graduates encouraged to apply </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Full-time, Night Shift (designed for flexibility.
