Talent Acquisition team member will fill in the Posting description after intake meeting.</p> <p>Description for Candidates</p> <p>This role supports the development, validation, and optimization of emissions control systems and associated components through rigorous test planning, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will apply engineering, programming, and data processing skills to enable robust product development and support continuous improvement within the Decomp Reactor Development (DRD) organization.</p> <p>Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Lead test planning and execution for emissions and performance validation campaigns, including NH3 UI, mixer, and aftertreatment subsystems.</p> <p>Develop, automate, and maintain data analysis tools using MATLAB, LabView, and Excel to support test repeatability and reporting.</p> <p>Coordinate with Lab Operations, Product Engineers, and Functional Teams to ensure high-quality test execution aligned with Cummins processes (e.g., VPC support, 6 Sigma, EPA compliance).</p> <p>Utilize flow dynamics expertise to support analysis of urea injection systems, mixers, and sensor data interpretation.</p> <p>Create and maintain process documentation including RACI charts, test procedures, tuning documentation, and validation plans.</p> <p>Provide timely and detailed technical presentations and documentation using PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.</p> <p>Collaborate on process and tool improvement initiatives, contributing to TDAT, CROSS Tool, and emissions modeling strategies.</p> <p>Support Six Sigma, performance management, and community engagement initiatives as aligned with team and corporate values.</p> <p>Qualifications and Competencies</p> <p>Skill / Tool Description</p> <p>MATLAB Used for emissions data analysis, algorithm development, and test tool coding.</p> <p>LabView Interface development for data acquisition and control.</p> <p>Coding (e.g., Python, VBA) Supports automation, data processing, and integration of tools.</p> <p>RACI Clear understanding of cross-functional responsibilities and stakeholder roles.</p> <p>Minitab Statistical analysis for design of experiments and 6 Sigma support.</p> <p>Microsoft Excel (Advanced) Complex data manipulation, dashboard creation, and test result processing.</p> <p>Microsoft Outlook Professional communication, scheduling, and tracking.</p> <p>Microsoft PowerPoint Reporting and technical storytelling to cross-functional and leadership teams.</p> <p>PTC Creo Ability to interpret 3D models and drawings for test planning and analysis.</p> <p>Microsoft Project Used for timeline and resource management in validation projects.</p> <p>Flow Dynamics Strong understanding of physical flow behavior critical to emissions systems.</p> <p>Additional Responsibilities Unique to This Position</p> <p>Core Responsibilities:</p> <p>Act as a bridge between test engineering and data analytics to ensure traceability and repeatability of validation results.</p> <p>Drive continuous improvement in emissions validation processes using digital tools and cross-functional insights.</p> <p>Lead or support technical analysis using tools such as TDAT, CROSS Tool, and MATLAB scripts to enable team growth and standardization.</p> <p>Required Skills, Education, or Experience:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Eng. preferred; open to Electrical or Chemical Eng.</p> <p>Experience in validation, test development, or data analysis engineering roles.</p> <p>Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.</p> <p>Preferred (Nice to Have):</p> <p>Six Sigma skills or equivalent experience in process improvement projects.</p> <p>Hands-on experience with emissions or fluid systems (e.g., SCR, mixers, sensors).</p> <p>Experience working within Cummins engineering tools, processes, or organizational structures (e.g., VPC, VPI, PPS, PPT, etc).</p> <p>College Job Type: Co-op (6 Months)</p> <p>Required Work Location: Onsite</p> <p>Start Date: June/2026</p> <p>Job Engineering</p> <p>Organization Cummins Inc.</p> <p>Role Category On-site with Flexibility</p> <p>Job Type Student - School To Work</p> <p>ReqID 2430321</p> <p>Relocation Package No</p> <p>100% On-Site Yes</p> <p>Due to the operational nature and specific job duties of this role, work is required to be completed 100% in person/On-site.</p> <p>Cummins and E-Verify</p> <p>At Cummins, we are an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer dedicated to diversity in the workplace.
